IV been doing a lot of gym work for posture and core muscles and foam rolling to get a bit more mobility but still not quite there. Hopefully nearer end of season I will can get a few days out pain free. Thanks for all the advice and tips. My physio recommended Pilates so might give it a go once IV got the postural muscles balanced out. IV went out spinning a few times on the rivers thinking it wouldn't be as sore but still same results.

IV got this tape that you put quite tight the length of your back when you are standing with proper posture and when you slip into bad posture you can feel it getting tighter,it's a kind of muscle memory tool and that's been working quite well.

I went fishing as a guest on a prestigious still water. When we got there my host produced a coarse fishers type seat and spent all day in the same position quite happy, whilst I went up and down the lake. I have also seen a guy at a local fishery sat on a box all day happily catching many more fish than me. And of course you can fish from a boat in a well-supported seat, I find I get back pain after a few hours of holding and casting a salmon rod too. Not easy to do that from a chair I guess! David

I have ordered a full back brace for lumbar and thoracic spine from Amazon. It has a lot of good reviews. If anyone else wants to have a look it is here https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07...b_b_prod_image

Not so much a bad back but a fused ankle which makes standing on sloping ground for any period of time very uncomfortable. I usually fish reservoirs (Chew, Blagdon, Farmoor) from a boat but do like to occasionally bank fish and found this Chub seat with adjustable legs a major help.
