    Default Gold plated game fair

Had an email from Gary Evans to say they will be at the Hatfield game fair so I've had a look to see what else is there.

Before I got that far though, I saw the prices which I think are very expensive.

75 per adult three day ticket, 215 to pitch up in our campervan for three nights and 8 for a show guide. Oh, and only 1.95 for them to email the tickets to print at home!

So for the wife and I to make a weekend of it would be 374.95 plus fuel, food and drink. We will give it a miss.

If anyone does attend it would be interesting to know if it was worth it.
Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught and the last river poisoned, will we realise, we cannot eat money.

Was there a credit card surcharge as well? If not they missed another trick.

Lad I work with is doing Silverstone 3 days this weekend for less.

Looked at it but I think a day ticket for the Fair and the House is 40. Don't think so.

Can't imagine spending 3 days there, but I'll definitely be there for the Friday unless it p's it down. Lovely day out, early big fat breakfast, late fat lunch, lots to see and do, few ales and driven home afterwards (15 minutes).
I can't put a value on a great day out but it's more than the entry fee; hopefully thousands of others will feel the same way.
Also there tomorrow, Saturday night, for the Battle Proms, (wife's bought a load of mini Union Jacks) and if any energy left, Sunday to see Seth Lakeman, but that may/will be a quid and a bridge too far.

To coincide with this, Countryside Alliance today offered me their "gold" membership for free access to such events....err! Don't think I'm that interested, much more bargains to be obtained online which gives me more time to actually fish.
2019 & it will be time for a change.
