It may give SA a bit of an insight if he ever learns how to use it.

I doubt sa'll be involved in multinational cross border projects, unless he visits his nan in wales for the holidays.

Speaking of the Guardian, this was an illuminating read:

Is socialism the answer to the climate catastrophe? | Jeff Sparrow | Opinion | The Guardian

Here is a link to SERA (the Socialist Environment and Resource Association). It says it's the only environmental group affiliated with the Labour Party. Red-green politics.

    About SERA
I think the Times is 'mildly' right-wing but LukeNZ is in New Zealand, so is probably not notably familiar with UK newspapers, so I wasn't going to get into the 'finer nuances'.
It's a pointless discussion anyway as with GW nobody is going to change anyone else's opinion, least of all if the 'other side' person has strong political views.
I don't, I just think 99% of UK politicians are jerks, whichever side they are on, and leave it at that. And as UK surveys on 'respect for occupations' always find that politicians come lowest of all, even lower than estate agents, I am probably correct.
As an example, look at what we have now. A choice between a bumbling incompetent and a compulsive liar.

As for the Guardian, it has a certain entertainment value, but that's all. Exactly the same applies to all the others, but the 'Daily Hate Mail' is the most amusing.

I see the guy in your Guardian link seems to be critical of "our society" not voting rationally. Where on earth did he get the crazy idea that humans are rational creatures?

Well you voted for them - they don't get there without your votes.

They have to lie to get anything done. If the truth was compulsory, the world wouldn't operate.

Then you have another green movement that is trying to limit their impact is essentially a group of hippies and the like. Some of whom may align with green politics and some who may not; that believe the greenwash marketers. The wealthy ones will buy electric cars and feel better and the poor ones will grow dreadlocks smoke dope talk shiit etc. hug trees and do generally what hippies always do. Try to make themselves feel valid, plant a tree, while simultaneosky sponging off everone else.

That or similar might be a common stereotypical perception - what do you think?
    What do I think?

I think your entire series of posts on this subject are a perfect example of that stereotypical thinking.

Actually I don't usually vote at all because where I live the 'Conservative' (equals right-wing) candidate, whoever he or she happens to be, has always had such a vast majority (typically 70-80% of the overall vote, and we have a 'first past the post' system so the others have zero chance) that whether I vote for him or one of his opponents won't make the slightest difference.

Furthermore, I think if enough people behave as I do (not voting) the turnout might be low enough that he realises the utter contempt UK politicians of any party are now held in.
That might be an unrealistic hope but actually I don't much care. Politics don't play a big part in UK society, it make little difference whoever is in 'power', and it's even a 'banned' subject of conversation in public places such as bars, etc. as it bores people.

You see. I knew you would agree that it is the most popular view - right or wrong.

    Enjoy your cornflakes!

Well you are very lucky to live in such a nice area that has so much middle-class support.

You could always move to an area that has a similar amount of Labour support, but it might not be as nice to live there?

If you actually bothered to read my posts you will find I never agreed that at all. It is one view, common among a certain group of people who prefer to 'dismiss' people with a different opinion than their own. Which is a dumb thing to do.

My wife and I have no wish to move.

And there is no reason why an area with a lot of Labour support need be any worse than here. Take a look at where Jeremy Corbin lives. It you happen to like large cities, which many do, it is as pleasant as you will get anywhere. And Corbin has been their MP for more than 30 years.
