    Default Global warming? Proof

This "global warming" has today stopped me fishing again, it's been raining all day and river is rising again.

Proof of global warming? Knickers to that.

All roads in or out of our village are flooded and its much the same in most of South Yorkshire, Meadowhall is in lockdown because of the floods, some of our friends are having to stay the night there.

Theres plenty of evidence of climate change

I know nothing about the surroundings of your village or South Yorkshire but is the current flooding down to climate change or land use change and poor planning/building in the wrong place?

From the link you gave there is the 1968 hurricane (an event I'd never heard of) and the note about it says it all:

Hurricane-force winds cause 20 deaths in the Central Belt of Scotland. In Glasgow alone, over 300 houses were destroyed and 70,000 homes were damaged. Electrical power also failed in Glasgow, leaving the whole city in darkness. In total the storm felled 8,000 hectares of forest across Scotland (1.6 million cubic metres of timber). The storm, which affected Northern England, Scotland and N. Ireland received little attention from the BBC or the national press

Its down to heavy and prolonged rain onto ground that was already saturated, the water is running off my sloping allotment like a stream, my greenhouse at the top of the garden is submerged

I think that is called normal winter weather isn't it?
Not nice if you are getting it but sadly it is your turn, a few years ago it was Somerset, next year it will be somewhere else.

It does seem to be getting the norm and I'm glad we live on a hill, the local news has been showing those who're not so fortunate and their homes are flooded again

I should add that Meadowhall is a large shopping centre where the shoppers are locked in,
