Love but age (and physical condtion) will preclude a trip that long. The real FUN was I was taking a full load at University on wine grape production. (We did build vineyards when we moved to Southern Oregon.)

Sooo every day we toured at least one vineyard area and a couple of wineries. Total hoot chatting up the folks; 'Full Cooks Tours!' Actually worked (part time) at one of Nor. Cal's larger winery's and brough 4 full cases of our finest with me.

Go into winery, chat up and exchange one of mine for one of theirs. One total treat was when Joan and I were leaving fellow comes running out the Door: Are the Americans!!??"

Turns out he'd graduated the year before from the same school I was attending! Even better he'd worked at one of our Sister Wineries.

Small edit: THE text book was written by one of your fellows: Richard Smart: "Sunlight into Wine." If you were going to be a grower just about everything you needed to know was between the cover's of that book.

Gidday mate! Good to see another Kiwi on the forum! I hadn't come across Reel Escapes before, but I suppose being a local I don't use guides. Had a look at your website though & I'm familiar with a few of the guides you have listed- really good bunch of guys you're working with! They've all got top reputations. I always enjoy watching Matt Butlers footage, & been following TrippinOnTrout on facebook for quite some time too.

You get out much over here? I've only been in the UK since the end of January, & my gear is currently en route, so haven't managed to get out here yet, but should be arriving in about three weeks or so. Itching to get a line wet.

I'm based in Oxford, so only an hour from London so I've been getting in there regularly. If you're ever keen to catch up with another kiwi and chat fishing over a pint or three let me know. I'll be looking to try do a few fly trips around the wider UK over the next 2-3yrs, & possibly the odd one elsewhere in Europe as well.

    Alex.

Now 75 doubt it. but would love to!. Their kids are expected next month, motor home ready to go. Headed to Idaho, Montana?

Where ever. Balancing on my walking cane; toss them the keys, wave them good by. 'Rug Rat's' giving me hugs.

'Are you really my Uncle Fred?'

    'Want me to be?'

'We shall read together, wall full of books, "Choose one."

For what ever reason I never liked the 'North Island,' get on the Ferry headed to the south, small motor home waiting at the dock. Only down side was the further south you got the worst the bittie bugs!
