Default New guy from North Carolina in the US

Hi folks!

Found out about your forum via Clark's Bamboo forum where I've been a member for years. I live in Charlotte North Carolina in the US. Nearest wild trout stream is about an hour away at South Mountain State Park.

The Great Smoky Mountain National Park, where I love to fish the most, is about 3 hours-plus. I usually can be found there on Eagle Creek fishing for wild mountain Brook trout.

Been fishing ever since I could walk. Been fly fishing since I was about 11 or 12 and grew up in the 1960's and 70's.

I got bitten by the bamboo bug about 15 years ago. I'm not too afflicted but do prefer to fish bamboo over fiberglass and fiberglass over graphite. I tie my own flies, make my own 'plastic' rods and fish with my son every chance I get.

Have renovated three homes so far and working on my fourth. Have way too many tools, almost a full wood shop, do most of my own electrical, carpentry, drywall and auto repairs.

Own a 1971 Triumph TR-6 and it's my daily driver...no kidding, it's my main car for transportation. It's my second one actually. See photo below taken in Arizona a couple of years ago when we lived there.

I promise to try not to make a mess here. I don't cause trouble but I don't look away either. I am an avid shooting sports guy, own a number of fine guns and shoot as often as possible at the gun club I belong to.

Regards,
Grant

Welcome to a whole new level of insanity Grant! Just don't mention the following words: bungs, mop flies, and squirmy worm whatever you do!
