    Howdo all,

Just to say hello and greetings from sunnny Batley. Along with my son, I'm new to this 'gentle art,' but what a great time we're having so far. Big shout out to Shelley's 'Fly Only' while I'm here - fantastic shop and fantastic people. If anyone's got any advice on wading from Elland's Cromwell Bottom up to Sowerby Bridge then it'd be very welcome.
    Ta.

Welcome to the forum & to fly fishing.
There's more to life than just fishing....but I ignore them.

Hello, I haven't fished the local river for a couple of years , but this link is to the club you need to get permits from . There is info on their website

If I remember rightly the yearbook runs January to January but it's cheap enough to join , and members can park in the rugby club at Copley . I went for a walk in Hardcastle Crags last week and fish were definitely rising in Hebden Water so they will be there in the fishable bits between the National Trust boundary and Hebden Bridge also .

I must get another yearbook , they cost less than a single day on some parts of the Wharfe .

Thanks very much for all the info. Appreciated.
Haggerstock - cheers for the info on Ryburn and Halifax. We visit Hardcastle Crags quite often. Just wondered if you knew where the club's Hebden stretch started - is is the mini-weir at the bottom of the Blue Pig car park, or further upstream? Thanks again.

I'm thinking the water starts in Hebden Bridge town and runs up to the Crags , I'm not familiar with the Blue Pig ( perhaps I should be ) there are a few guys on the forum who live around there and fish that water . If you post a specific thread on the subject you will be sure to get help .

Welcome from someone just a shade further to the East BB. I do most of my fishing up Pickering way.
