Up here we have one wheely bin for everything emptied weekly! Apparently I’m told they did try different bins for recycling but everyone refused to use them, or put smelly stuff in which ever bin was to be collected that week. I’m also lead to believe that the council now pays literally...
Thought I’d try the river today, but it was up a bit and coloured. I tried all day with a delicately presented size 22 dry. Can’t understand why I never even got an offer!
Actually we walked round the falls of Lanark on the Clyde. A great walk made all the better by recent rain.
Since the start of lockdown I’ve not drawn any cash out of the bank! Everything has been paid for by contactless payment, by either debit card or my Apple Watch! The odd coins I had had have now all been used up for car parking and I’m literally down to my last 20 p coin!

Tying most of my own flies I dread to think how many I have. For a recent trip away from home I counted at last 15 fly boxes with at least 100 flies per box of which I probably only ever use 15 patterns if that. Yet still the collection grows!
The SIL who is a bit more agile than me never uses a landing net. He just runs his hand down the leader and (using barbless hooks) just shakes the fish off so that they never even leave the water. With my waistline especially wearing coat waterproofs or waders etc this is impossible for me!
Bit the bullet this afternoon and paid to fish the estates lochs. In the first which was covered in weed and surrounded by long grass I caught three small rainbows and a perch. Getting fed up of being stuck in weed all the time I rang the office and told them I was swapping lochs. In the second...
Back from the night fishing. We tried the river Till in Northumberland. On arrival the water was very low and murky like pea soup with a greeny/brown tinge to it. Long story short I blanked as did the SIL and his friend. I saw two jump but that was it.
