That’s looking great. If you want an easy start stick some onion sets in for an earlier crop 😉

I love the deer silhouetted against the mist; a brilliantly captured moment 👍

    Gone Fishing: The Consultant’s View

Wales, phew. The episode was most definitely back on form after the blip (for me) of Norfolk. Great editing to give a flowing programme that I thought showed everyone and everything at its best.

Chew today - to the gent who gave me a corixa

I suspect it may have been a hares ear body with white Antron as a back.

Thats what I was expecting as a Corixa but from the photo example and description is very different. Pearl lurex over white or pale blue thread works great as a body on corixa as its just like an air bubble ;)

Have a look at the Wye and Usk Passport. Your only 60 to 90 minutes or so from plenty of good water just across the Welsh border. My favourite is the Honddu. 6’7’ #3 water but some lovely good sized trout. Very reasonable prices too 👍

    Gardening, some advise requested.

Decide what you want to grow and then think about where you would will put them. Some thoughts: - sprawling plants like cucumber and squash can be grown up a trellis to avoid them taking over useful growing space but you don’t want them shading other plants. - carrots and parsnips want to be in...

Do you have a photo of the one that was successful? There a few different patterns and so it would be good to know.

    Gone Fishing: The Consultant’s View

I sort of agree with your view John. From the age of about 4 until 13 my family holidayed ont he broads every year and we thought it was busy then. I last had a boat out of Wroxham perhaps 20 years ago and was shocked how busy it was. Looking at the number of boats you filmed in the opening...

    Middle to tip rods.

Out of interest, have you tried any of the Greys Streamflex rods? I have the GR80 and would agree with your thoughts with the big improvement on the XF2 being that it’s much lighter and so even nicer to use!

    Gone Fishing: The Consultant’s View

Was it just the scenery of the Lake District or the demonstration of genuine friendship that made tonight’s episode the best yet? For me I think it was a combination of the two. This episode in many ways captured the escapism of fishing as well as the amazing views that we often experience...

    Any braid spin fishers here.

My current favourite braid for my bass lure rods is Suffix 832 or thePro 8 which has now been replaced by X8. Cheap by comparison to many others but casts well and is long lasting. It is so good that I no longer spend a fortune for Sunline Castaway which hit over £40/100m! EDIT I just...
