Anybody used flexothene waterproofs? If so, what’s your opinion on them please?!! Gore Tex doesn’t really do it for me unfortunately.....I find it leaks eventually and is cold when wet. Admittedly I haven’t tried the three or four...
I never fish in a boat myself, just row them.
I do all my fishing walking about.

I have spent my working life and angling lifetime in one of the wetter and wilder parts of the UK.
I like to stay dry.
But each to their own.
I like to fish in wild weather. The bib and brace combined with full length jacket, or shooting smock with flap down over one`s @rse, stops the rain blowing up my coat soaking me. No need for braces to keep the overtrousers up either.
I wear the bib and brace all the time, for work (farming), shooting (wildfowling on the foreshore), ghillie work (sitting on my arse in a boat) and my own fishing.
Almost every one I have had over the last 15(?) has been dry out of the bag, but they will leak after constant walking or...

I asked because the serious fire on Lewis on Saturday as started by a large scale crofter. He had called the local fire chief and estate factor before he started. The fire guy had said the day before that the weather meant moor burn was well dodgy.

Aye, it was dry(mostly) here on Lewis for a few weeks. Even in winter, sun and a good wind dries the ground out quickly. This year was unusual in that the ground was frozen hen the pyromaniacs went to work.
All the fires were set in the traditional crofter manner. Set a few fires going and go...
