    The Soldier Palmer

I tied a couple of these last season, The first one I used on the first cast I used it, my rod was almost pulled from my hand. Because all night long I had only caught a very few fish, I was on the way home, and I just tried it for fun, just to see. What an incredible take it was. Hook, Kamasan...

    Pet hates in fly tying

Wanting to tie a fly, looking at what I need and finding out there is one ingredient that I don't have, I have several boxes of stuff, but not having that one thing annoys me. I am getting over it by just using what I do have.

First try at a sooty olive

Well. Had a cup of tea and got to the vise, taking onboard your advise. Feels weird tying something that is not smooth and sparse, but I am happy with this one. Hook Kamasan B12 WFS #12. Thread, Uni 8/0 Black. Tail GP Tippets. Rib, UTC Oval Gold, Body, Mature Seals Fur, Hackle, Black Hen, Wing...

    Snipe and purple.

I was fishing one day and while I was catching decided to put on a PTN just to see why its such a well thought of fly. Started catching right away and after a while I took a close look at the fly in the light of day. It was amazing, the copper rib was gleaming and shining through the feather...
