    Lough Sheelin

Forgot to update this. Fished out of Crover June 20th. 3 trout, two over 4lb on dry green mayfly pattern, one small. Lost one 10lb apprx. Fishing dry's blind all day as what fish rose did not stay on the top. First fish caught just before lunch, second around 4pm. Lost the big one around 6pm...

    Dapping Floss

As you can see its very neat. Fiddly to make but worth it to see it go through the top rings with ease, with the added benefit that the weight of the fish is on the braid and not on the floss if tied directly.

    Dapping Rod

Not ones I would willingly share :) Just kidding, I wasnt happy with the first one(cosmetically), but the second has a nicer finish. I will post some pics and maybe a vid as I should have them on my GoPro. Not home right now so maybe the weekend.

    Dapping Floss

I have been experimenting with whipping the floss directly onto thin backing line using 8/0 tying thread, no knots just whipping the floss back on itself. Its incredible neat. I will post pics as soon as I am back home, probably tomorrow. Might be neater than yours Cap'n fishy :)

    Lough Corrib

On Sunday on Oughterard Bay they were feeding hard on spent Caenis until 12pm. It was 20c + little ripple and blue skies. Trout are funny, you wouldn't expect to see them in that weather feeding hard ont he top. They refused every pattern I threw at them.

    Dapping Rod

Im a little late to the party, but I built two dapping rods, both 14ft 6wt and 7wt respectively. Both are switch/spey blanks from the site below. I think they have changed the blank slightly since I bought them. IM8 Graphite 14ft. 4pce., 5/6wt. Spey Rod Graphite Blank | The Angler's Roost...

    Lough Corrib

Hi, The fly will hatch over any water under 10ft deep. But bigger hatches over shallow marly bottoms. I fished it last week and blanked, same set up as you described. Other years I have been more successful, I am up again next week so hoping for better luck. Its not easy fishing, and I think...

    Lough Conn

Thank you guys, just checking. Killarney has an engine restriction, nothing over 6hp unless you are a one of the tour guides.

    Boat trolling for dollaghan trout.

One of my vids, a few other uploaded to my channel. Gives you an idea of how they behave with a trolled deadbait. Also I recorded as many sessions with artificials but the trout barely come for them. Only early season for the plastics https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P5Kq-LXzG0U

    Electric outboard motor batteries

Very neat set up. Feel like adding a few usb ports to it ? or cigarette jacks ? I did that to mine, but I have it in a small wheelie bin so plenty of room. One of these and wire away...
