Adam and colboro, just in case you weren't aware, there was a bad pollution incident on the upper Mole and Gatwick Stream just last October:
More than 1,000 fish died following a 'flash pollution' incident on the River Mole in Horley - it's now a criminal investigation - Get Surrey
Chaps, thanks again for your help and suggestions on this thread... happily I've now tracked down a source in Germany.
If anyone else wants to grab one of these vanishingly-rare pieces of high design, check out Brinkhoff in Munich ;)

For anyone who's interested in the fate of William Joseph (I am) I've done a bit of googling this lunchtime, and have come up with the following daisy chain of ownership:
William Joseph was part of Vortex Outdoors, which was acquired by Zebco Brands in 2008...
I'd imagine there's a lot of this about, so would be very interested to know who really has bought WJ.
The new(ish) Wychwood range of chest packs are very similar to the older WJ moulded clamshell models, but I've tried to put that down to (ahem) convergent evolution so far?
Fully agree... I love my Surge magnetic waist pack.
If I think about it for any length of time at all, it's a source of real fury to me that WJ has apparently been bought by a larger company who have now stopped all production and are deliberately running it into the ground.
Thanks both - it's a massive thrill to see my work in the pages of T&S.
Also ironic that some of our river restoration efforts have now come under quite serious threat, in the same week that the article was published. The struggle goes on!

Possibly this is a silly question, Bob, but are Charlotte Hitchmough and others at ARK (Action for the River Kennet) aware of your plans?
Maybe they could do something with this kind of landscape-scale thinking now (see, for instance, the scale of the winning projects in this year's Wild Trout...
Swanlee, I started off using a (now slightly old school) Orvis LA2 on my Tactical 10ft 3wt, and eventually refined it down to using an LA1 which in my view provided a very light-in-hand and perfectly balanced rig. I suspect that a Danielsson in the equivalent size would also work.
I guess one of the things I'm most interested in knowing is how "over-built" (or not) the handle on the 6-foot 2-weight is... once you get used to fishing ultralight with the subtle old-school Orvis Superfine cork and ring handles, anything more mainstream feels far too big...
Hi chaps - I've seen a couple of fairly generic reviews of this new range recently and wondered if anyone has used them for real yet?
I'm particularly interested in the little tiny 6ft 2wt...
Thanks in advance!
Spot on, Bob, I'd agree with all of that.
What I'm really wondering about is this "link between the abundance of signal crayfish and the year-on-year improvement in numbers and size of grayling in our rivers is rapidly gaining credence".
There's Ribble Trust research which showed that...
