Great report that should teach the skinflints to bid up next time!

Who knows how many fish you boys could have caught with dry flies and 3lb Maxima?

Trout fishermen revere the trout; trout, on the other hand, unaware of their sublime standing in man's world, revere nothing, including man, a creature they seem to view with special contempt. Nihilism is a rare trait in fish but trout are full of it. The old men liked that.

The lot should have gone for twice the price, Terry is a superb angler and was a pleasure to fish with. The benefit some anglers would get from some of the auction lots in terms of learning and understanding you simply can't put a price on and to put the cream on the cake it's all for a good cause.

    Keep up the good work

    Agreed.
    It should have made more.
What should we do next year to ensure bounders like you don't enjoy such bargains?!!

    Don't change a thing

Next year I'll donate a box of flies to see if you can get some mug to buy them

I'll also see if work will play ball to see if I can fish the Social which I've been promising to do since last year when Peter Dawson introduced me to the delights of the Monnow as part of last years auction.

I hope you and the guys have a great weekend.
