Default MRA Auction XI Lot 35: Fishing with Adrian Nash on the Ewenny.

    LOT 35

A day on the River Ewenny in South Wales, fishing for wild brown trout or grayling, guided by Adrian Nash.

Apparently, although dry flies work, nymphs are particularly effective. Worse still, they say “the river lends itself perfectly to Tenkara as well”

Bankside lunch provided and plenty of Kelly Kettle tea.

Trout fishermen revere the trout; trout, on the other hand, unaware of their sublime standing in man's world, revere nothing, including man, a creature they seem to view with special contempt. Nihilism is a rare trait in fish but trout are full of it. The old men liked that.

Best £40 you will spend on fishing this year... if you've never met the river or Stalker (Ade), he lives on that river day in, day out. One of the nicest guys I've met in my time fishing in 36yrs of it.

So I'm just back from the guided tour with Ade. A very patient man in the face of some inept casting and loss of what looked like the biggest fish of the day.

Its quite a gem and a lesson in good stewardship of a river.

Thanks Ade for an excellent day out!! To the rest of you: Its a challenging little river, bring a small rod, and its worth more than £50 so cough up.
