Some years ago, after I had replaced a conifer hedge with a wooden panel fence, I heard a bit of a commotion late one evening, I found a hedgehog on top of the fence. The noise must have been the hedgehog climbing up the wooden fence. I never knew until then that they a great climbers. I have gaps around gates and boundaries just big enough for them to pass through, cat's prefer to go over the fence rather than through the gaps, especially when the dog is after them.

    thanks for the kind comment
hedge hogs in the city ,hmmm ,ive only ever seen a handful in my life and that was in the country side
i have a surrounding perimeter wall going from 7ft-10ft on i side and the rear and a 6ft fence on the other side which leads to neighbors back gardens
and a big german shepard dog too
so i dont believe i need a hedgehog ramp or does a pond entice them in from the streets?

Not a city but I live in a town and have seen quite a few in our garden. It has a brick garage on one side a six foot wall on another and a four foot fence with chicken wire at the bottom on the third with the house on the other and we had a big male hibernate in the garden two years ago
