    Did you try the dap at all.......brings up the big ones if conditions are right! My best ever day with two guests on Shin was 55 brownies. The top end of the loch providing the best fish.

    Can't remember if I did on that trip - it was 5 years ago - but we do dap regularly on all the lochs up that way. Just depends on the conditions we get (I like a light, steady breeze, rather than a big blow, or any gustiness) - and whether I am in the mood for it.

    One on the dap from a couple of weeks ago...

    I looks like that a lot of the time, what with the hydro generation...










    It can be full at times, though...






    This is the wee, secondary generator that uses the water coming down into Shin...


    A couple of our guys drifted through the inlet without realising what happens when they throw the switch!

    Have you seen one for Shin post-hydro development, Derek? The only map I have seen is the bathymetrical survey map from 1905, which is before the hydro dam was built and raised it... a lot.

    google post hydro maps and overlay the pre hydro map, the main difference is in the shore line, the depths remain the same , easker1
