    Default A Cutthroat Trout

One of my better pictures of one of my better trout, also my avatar. A well proportioned, 22" Snake River Cutthroat X Rainbow hybrid from the North Platte River, Wyoming, USA.

    Question

Are these hybrids stocked as such or do they interbreed in the wild?

    Thanks!
Heriot, they are interbreeding in the wild. Snake River Cutts are being widely stocked in the west because they adapt well and exhibit fast growth.
Jim and Lochmor, two reasons I think for the golden hue-diet consisting of a lot of scuds (freshwater shrimp and perhaps crayfish) and the lighting.

Am I correct in saying the fish gets its name from the red line under the lower jaw?

Where is the best rated place in the US for fishing? Do you get Chinocks up your way? You must do! Am I write in thinking the Chinock is the King Salmon or are there differences?

I know you are close to Canada but who would you say has the best fising?

I really want to experience the pleasures of that side of the world! (I am talking about fishing by the way!!!)

    Cheers
