    Default New Canon

Not yet, but things shaping up for March 2nd. From Northlight Images as of yesterday:

"We've hearing of NDAs expiring on the 2nd of March.
Now we also hear of a 5D3 (and only a 5D3) spec for a launch on the 2nd
    22MP, 6fps, 61 focus points (41 cross) same as 1DX system
    100-25600 Basic ISO 1024k dots LCD display 3:2 wide (or 3.2" ?)
Best Video quality in a DSLR.
After several different suggestions pointing to the start of March I'm wondering if we will indeed get an announcement on the 2nd. Fridays are not a traditional day for announcements, but perhaps we will see a 5D3 celebrating 25 years of EOS?"

Canon's priority was obviously getting the 1Dx (and telephoto lenses) out and delivered to professionals prior to the Olympics (what a great excuse for an upgrade - wouldn't want to be seen with last year's equipment would you?). It sounds like they may pop out the 5D III just in time as well for all those prosumer sport photographers, but take their time for a high resolution camera. Sounds like good commercial sense to me. (May as well have a poke around the D800 and ensure you can thrash it, again.)

"Canon have made the anti-aliasing filter thinner to get higher quality - BUT - if you decide to put cheap lenses on this camera you may find them wanting."

It will be interesting to see what they do with the 3D.

I am very sceptical of this feature to be honest...

I think the MKIII is the way I'm heading. Going to leave it a few months and see what happens with price. Just renting MKII for wedding and portrait work at moment. was waiting for AF to be fixed before I plunged into full frame world.

I'd rather have a spare 3K and find out for myself to be honest

If you've got 3K going spare, what better to blow it on?

2k in the US. You'd be very silly to buy it here.

Having just spent 250 repairing my 1DsII (I think I was ripped off for stuff it didn't really need but you never know) I think I will wait around for the 3D
