Are there any of the simple hosting sites that allow image editing.I've looked at several but they do not seem to have any editing facilities.

Not that I'm aware of and can't see how it could be done to be honest.

If I assume you don't have an image editing programme on your PC, there are ways (dark, devious ways) to get programmes such as Photoshop or Lightroom. Otherwise this site may be useful...

Google Photos lets you edit Jim, but I'm not sure how easy it would be to get your photos to appear in a forum post (assuming you'd need to do that too).
It does let you make a link to your photos though, like this ........wild brownie

IrfanView does basic things like that, and more. It will even convert a whole folder if needed. All you have to do then is upload it to whatever online source you use normally for your pictures and link to them.
    Don't worry, be happy.

    Ah, understood.

For basic Crop/Zoom/Horizons Microsoft Office Picture Manager will do all that.

    Hello Jim,
Hope you are well! I was recommended an app called HALIDE recently, to edit pictures taken from your mobilephone. That might not exactly be what you are asking, but I have been impressed by the results shown by a friend of mine. I have not tried it yet, but I will! Worth having a look at it!

Irfanview FTW! - it is simply the best free image viewing/editing program I've found. GIMP will do far more, but for simple image handling/editing Irfanview every time.

If you go to Ninite - Install or Update Multiple Apps at Once, tick the box for Irfanview and then the blue and white "get your ninite" button, it's a risk free way to get the software compared with a Google/Other search engine search (same goes for GIMP and a whole host of other free software)

Hi, Jim, I'm probably a bit old school but I still use Picasa 3 for image editing then either save to my Flickr site or use 'File' then 'Export to Folder' if I want to post it here.
At the 'Export' window I set 'Resize' to 1024 pixels and 'Quality' to 'Normal'. This gives a decent pic to post on the forum via the 'Tree' icon on the forum toolbar.

Picasa 3 is free and pretty intuitive to use, I found.
