Hi all
The Editor of the Forum wants to close our original thread as it is too big and takes too much space. It feels like the end of an era but in starting this new replacement thread I hope the posts about our lives and fishing exploits will carry on.

Our next fishing outing is 20th May at Blencarn near Penrith. there six of us and anyone on the Forum can join us you would be most welcome.

Best wishes to old and new friends and regular readers of the Lancsy Lads thread.

I went this morning, the weather was reasonable with little wind. When I got to the res the waves looked like those on the north sea in a storm, with spray and rain blowing towards us, the other chap who was parked up asked what were my plans, I said to go home for a bit of breakfast and a cupper and come back another day, he said that he was thinking of a similar plan, with that we both drove off.

Back home and the weather is very much as it was when I left, the Pennines may look pretty but the weather can be bad at times.

Wee question for you guys, I've a course in Worsley for a week in July, most work guys would use this to hammer the company credit card for a week, but I see it as an opportunity to fish for 5 nights, with none of lifes usual distractions! any recommendations where to fish? Irwell? Croal? I'm not really into the bows tbh, but I'd happily fish for chub or the likes on the fly too. Need to sort out a rod licence too.

I put the fishing tackle back into the car last night after watching the BBC weather and told the mrs I was going fishing this morning (y)
A bit later the ITV weather came on with different story, instead of light wind and dry, it said rain and drizzle
Well it was raining when I got woke up so I turned over and went back to sleep, I got up around 7am and it was peeing it down and hasn't stopped with either rain or drizzling until a moment ago 1. 0-clock.

Anyway we ended up aldi shopping.

Glad Ged is ok. Thanks Steve.
Started pressure washing the patio. I need some good black spot remover. Got most of what I wanted to do when the high pressure hose split. Not surprised I have had it a few years now and it has done a lot of work. New one ordered. Pressure washer still working so hope it does not pack in just yet.

They had all the fish out of our pond a few years ago, I don’t bother putting any in now, it had better luck than me though, been on Ladybower float tubing, not a touch, I probably would have been better of in a boat, I would have had more control in the stiff breeze.

Hard luck at Ladybower Steve. Lost a lot of fish two winters ago, it’s not been round for some time, have put some more fishing line across the pond didn’t realise it would dive in the water like that. Trouble is there is not much weed for the fish to hide at the moment I may put something in the pond for them to hide under until the weed grows again

Well done Noel is it the first time you’ve fished at Tunstall this year?

I went this morning, a cold start with nothing doing, however as the wind picked up so did the fish, I got 8 in total and was back home by lunchtime.
I used a cats whisker swimmer on a sinking line :)
