Thread: Question,reel seat lock nuts loose.

I was wondering if anyone can suggest a fix for me?
The 2 lock nuts on my reel seat of a greys xf2 fly rod, they keep coming undone.
I can tighten them up then within a few casts they are loose again.
Does anyone have a suggestion to stop them coming loose?

Try popping a tight fitting rubber “ O Ring” on the threads between the rings . As you compress it against the first one it should exert enough force to hold the sloppy fit rings .

Good idea from Haggstock.Or how about some PTFE tape on the threads.or even just a bit of insulating tape on the bottom ring once tightened up

I think haggstock has solved your problem.
I was going to suggest looking at the locking rings to see if they still had their rubber washers, these usually fit into the rings themselves.

As haggstock suggested but an elastic band will get you by until you find a neat fitting O ring
