I love the comedy turn with the wee bit of wood He should have re-enacted this scene with a mate:

You are all welcome - I have greatly enjoyed doing the wee chronicle of the events over the winter. As well as being interesting to watch the goings-on, it has got me out the house, given me an alternative view on my daily constitutional, kept my hand in with the camera, got me my first photo of a goldcrest...

...and my first photo of a snake's head fritillary!

Here's to the new fish-pass and to many many successful ascents!

Yeh - I see where you are coming from with that idea. Could well be something along those lines.

Thank you Cap'n Fishy for the June pictures.
I observe there is a massive amount of "rubble" in the main stream just down from the actual waterfall pool.
In the sixties when we used to fish there in low water, we could sit on the big rock slabs which are still visible, and have dry backsides.
The runs at the sides of those slabs now seem choked with rubble.
Is this a deliberate strategy, or leftovers from the construction, I wonder???
How has the fishing been, this season?

My dad was down the other day and there were guys at the bottom of the fish pass building 3 ft piles of rocks at various points. My guess would be trying to guide fish into the pass. Any ideas?

    Happy New year for 2019.
Much water has run under the bridges since the fish pass was completed.
How has the fishing been over the past season?
Have any salmon and seatrout been spotted, caught upstream during 2018???

I only seen 2 salmon for the whole season, 1 in the spring and 1 in the autumn being eaten by the otter.

It wasn't a great year for salmon so maybe this season we will see the benefits of the new pass
