Conservation of salmon – Assessment for the 2020 fishing season

I am writing to let you know that the Scottish Ministers propose to continue to regulate the killing of salmon in Scotland, including the prohibition on retaining any salmon caught in coastal waters, by means of conservation regulations made under section 38 of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 2003.
Marine Scotland has undertaken an assessment of the conservation status of salmon in inland waters in Scotland for the 2020 fishing season. The outcome of that assessment, including proposed gradings for rivers and assessment groups in 2020, is available on the Marine Scotland website at
    Conservation Status
Ministers are required, under the terms of section 38 and schedule 1 of the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 2003, to publish notice of the proposals allowing a minimum 28 day period for representations or objections to be made. Notice is hereby given that the consultation on proposed gradings for the 2020 season will be advertised and commence on 20 August 2019.
Representations or objections in respect of the proposals should be submitted by no later than 19 September 2019 using the contact details below.

Bert.I'm still at a bit of a loss on what the Allan water is.I thought it was tied to the Forth.but can't actually find where that is stated.??

Jim, my reading of the stats/graphs is that Alan Water is included in the totals for Forth catchment, and is combined in counts as Forth, and not therefore rated as a single entity under the grading mechanisms.
This makes it grade 2 for next season.
You can find overall assesment on a further document for the east region, is page 46 onwards on this link.

    https://www2.gov.scot/Resource/0054/00548126.pdf

Forth catcment being the lower black shaded area, Teith being the middle gray area, and Alan being the upper black shaded area.
Alan is not alone in being treated this way, are other Rivers in forth catchment,(east region) that dont get a mention as a seperate entity.

    regards
    Bert
