Does anyone else have an explanation for this...?
Have caught lots of sea trout, and odd salmon in easturine waters, and they do seem to have "softer" mouths than sea trout that have been in rivers/lochs a while.
I always thought it was the salt water that caused this phenomenon.
Salt water keeps mouth softer, fresh water hardens it up.
No scientific knowledge of said situation, just experience.
    Back to op's thoughts though.
silver/blue and silver/light green colours work best for me, and indeed, secret weapons work best!

Ps. What size are those tied on?
Hi pat mostly 6 and 8 especially I the light stinger but the bottom fly is small and fished on the dropper it's a size 10.

The shrimps are again 6 and 8 but you can fish larger 4s and smaller 10s.

I like light stinger hooks for these as well, but do prefer traditional shrimp and my avourite is curved shrimp all Ahrex

Thanks Baztec. They look great. I'm thinking silverside patterns for Stripers!
