Fished Saturday 2.6.12 and Monday 4.6.12.
Recently stocked previous week, fish settled and rising to sub-surface buzzers. Plenty of fish rising and chasing flies.

Fishing at a reasonable cost. C&R good value. Three boats, with electric motors. Friendly, helpful staff.

Lack of a toilet, though it was only 20 mins from where I was staying.

Overall a fantastic place to fish and worth a return visit.

Thanks Upper Carriston staff

been fishing there regularly since it reopened in march this year (2012). the fish all seem in fantastic condition probably due to the sheer volume of natural food. the prices are more than reasonable compared to other local fisheries. 27 acres . there is a good head of howietown brown trout ranging from 3/4lb to 1 1/2lb all fighting fit. the rainbows range from 2lb to reports of 8lbers ! although my biggest was 5 1/2lb. one 1/2lb perch was confirmed on an olive dunn too !. there is a few resident howietowns from the previous stocks 10 years ago by the methilhaven angling association. i have personally witnessed one such beast being caught at 4 1/2lb and what a battle the gentlman had and it was safely returned too ! . at last light the splashes sound more like concrete slabs being dropped from a great height rather than an awkward re entry . highly recommended for some fin perfect specimen hunting ! .

180 2lb+ rainbows in since the start of the year
still a bit windy but the temp is rising and so are the fish

Got to agree with Rab, fished there quite a few times last season. They're doing a great job and the fish are quality, stripping down to the backing when taking dries. Hopefully get up at the weekend.
