was up here today and only word i can think of is satisfactory.

was on for half an hour and caught my limit, which wasnt ideal, then went on to catch and release. caught 8 in total, mustve missed about 7 on the buzzer and dropped 3.

i get the feeling its maybe overstocked as i had a nibble bite or catch with every second cast, no matter what i was using.

this may be what some people are looking for but i prefer quality, harder to catch fish.

place was nice enough though, full of lure chuckers but

Visited this place last night, it was lashing down with thunder and lightening but the place was still fairly busy.

The facilities are excellent and the loch is very well kept.

I fished for four hours and caught a 3 1/2 lb rainbow on a polar bear lure.

I saw plenty of fish rising and lots of brownies jumping all over.

I'll definitely be back.

The water has still been fishing well despite the drop in the temperature on Wednesday morning reminding us it is still January and not the spring yet. The fish were still being caught just under the surface to about 3 - 4 feet down, slowly with a wide variety of colours. Last Wednesday morning Len Johnston from Kilsyth first fish of the day was a beauty at 11lbs taken on an Ally McCoist. On Tuesday when it was still warmer A. Carson from Cumbernauld caught a 10lbv 4oz fish on a Kate McLaren and this was included in his two fish catch that weighed in at 14lbs 8oz. Also doing well was Alec Fitzsimmons from Fintry with 4 fish for 10lbs on a Daddy, Geoff Thomson, Blackford, 3 for 8lbs on a Coral Fritz, Hugh Bratchie, Lochgelly, 3 for 9lbs 4oz on a Yellow Dancer and Mike Christie from Scone used a White Blob to take s for 5lbs. Jack Gibb from Clackmannan caught 2 fish for 5lbs 8oz on an Ally McCoist, Hamish Carmichael, Tullibody, 2 fish for 6lbs on an Ally McCoist, Robert Kettles, Perth, 2 fish for 7lbs 12oz on a Black Fritz and George McLuskey from Spittalfield had a couple for 4lbs 8oz on a Yellow Dancer. Bobby Robertson from Falkirk caught 3 fish for 8lbs on a Damsel.

Hi, The fishery is still fishing well to most methods. However the photograph is not of the fishery but of the loch just immediately below the castle. The fishery is actually just about due south of the photograph. Google maps show it still surrounded by quarry workings which in actual fact have ceased and there are now two coarse fisheries there.

Went up for the first time with my brother on the 2nd of April. It was very busy due to the Easter weekend and there was plenty of fish rising despite the cold and the bitter easterly wind. All in we caught 3 Rainbows and a Brown trout. A very good fishery, friendly with good facilities. Will be back.
