Fished on 18/6/12, a warm and bright day with broken cloud and hardly any breeze.
We started on the south shore near the dam and covered a few rising fish but got no response, worked our way through Burn Bay, Bin Bay and Carron Bay using fast intermediate,Di3 and Di5 lines and a selection of lures.
We picked up 1 rainbow and 4 Brownies(2 keepers) and had lots of offers/follows.

Best line was Di3 pulling a hot head shimmy with Carron Bay and the area between Bin and Burn Bay producing the most chances.

The other boat worked floaters and sink tip lines with various dries and buzzer/nymph combo's , rose a few and had some hits all in Bin Bay but never connected with any.

Pretty tough day.

Fished Carron yesterday.Hot sunny and for the most part windless. but the fish kept on rising.I had a good day with some real quality Rainbows and beautiful wild Browns.I did not like many yesterday, get into a Powan, mores the pity. And when a bit of cloud cover with a gentle breeze got up in the afternoon the fish responded brilliantly.Superb top of the water sport.

Fishing at Carron Valley has always been good and this year we had some cracking catches, even in some tough conditions, including a belting Rainbow of 57cm in August. It can be a hazardous water when the wind gets up but the boats are good and the jetty is in good condition. The facilities are improving year on year. One of our favourite fisheries.
