Thumbs up Re: Ardgowen Fishery, Inverclyde

Much under rated fishery there is plenty of fish if you are a true angler and get off your bum to find them.
If you want to be guaranteed fish then go to a fish shop they dont just sit off the bank wauting for you to arrive.
I have fished there many times and very rarely blanked as have my grandaughters .
Ok so the bank needs tideid up a bit but anglers should have the decency to pick up there own rubbish instead of dumping their bottles and cans everywhere.
The road closure is a bummer and the diversion poorly sign posted but if you manage to get there and GO FISHING you will get fish

Hi i thought i had to respond to the recent comments about ardgowan ive fished all my life and on many visits to the fishery have always been met with a very friendly welcome be it from robert or his father ,you can just look around and see he is making the place a better all round fishery he has to cater for both fly and bait there is roomfor us all there (its a big place),rome wasnt built in a day as for the rubbish sure some times there is but can we all hold our hand up and say we have never dropped anything on the way back to the hut,i have only blanked once here and have brought many friends with me do you really want to catch every time you go out ,it wouldnt be much of a sport then would it sorry for the long rant but i really feel some people are on a witch hunt here if you got a set of tyres from quick fit and didnt like them you would say you wouldnt come home and moan on linejust talk to robert if you have a gripe well got to go im heading to ardgowan this weekend hope you are to tight lines.

Thumbs up Re: Ardgowen Fishery, Inverclyde

Visited numerous times. Always made very welcome by Robert and his team. They are always keen to give advice on where, how and what to fish in the prevalent conditions and bend over backwards to ensure no-one blanks. If you do it will not be through their lack of effort ! Access to Ardgowan is a slight issue at the moment but it is well worth the ( little extra ) effort as it is beautiful setting to fish in. The fish caught there by me or any of my party have always been in tip-top condition and have included one or two monsters. Always been able to get any last minute or replacement bits and bobs at the lodge/cafe/shop and as we all know a hot drink is always welcome ! Thoroughly enjoyed each and every visit I've made and already looking forward to my next one. No hesitation in heartily recommending it to any angler from novice to expert.

Hi
I fish at Ardgowan regulary and the fishing is OUTSTANDING. I was out a few days ago and caught my limit, the fish were a great size and in good condition. (Really strong fighting fish).
I have fished in lots of fisherys all over Scotland and l would rate this one near the top of the list. If you want a real fishery and not a pond - fish here. It has never let me down.
Robert is always a great help and always developong the fishery. I take my hat of to him at the great developments around Ardgowan.
If you havent tried this fishery l strongly recommend it.
P.S It is also great value for money.
