Fished The Watch yesterday for the first time, with my mate Ross, an inexperience angler. We had an excellent 4 hour boat session, with plenty of surface activity. The RSM gave us much good advice before we went out on the water, which helped us land 2 fish each. Good quality fish, hard fighting and all on floating or midge tip lines. Moved lots more and had a few other pulls that I didn't hook up. All in all, highly recommended. Thanks for a very enjoyable afternoon.

Thumbs up Re: Watch Water, Scottish Borders

There have been several major changes at the Watch Water for the start of the 2013 season. A new price structure has been put in place that really is unrivalled in the area. New boats are planned to replace the current fleet. The stocking policy is to be changed from Monthly to weekly. There will be Hot/ Food available with prior arrangement. Evening sessions during the summer months. etc etc A new management team, but still under the ownership of Bill Taylor. Several comps are planned, and tackle etc will be on sale.
Changes Planned For The Watch Water in 2013 The new start !!!!!! OPENS Weather permitting for the new season on Sat 2nd March 2013. tele 01361890331

Default Re: Watch Water, Scottish Borders (Sad news )

We are saddened to advise that one of our regulars at The Watch Water and Tweeddale took a bad turn whilst fishing at the Watch on Sunday 14th April 2013. Mr Bill Tait who stayed nr Greenlaw in the Scottish Borders was up for a half days fly fishing at the Watch Water. He had been sitting talking to Bill Taylor for a good half hour before going out to fish. He said that he had a stent put in after some heart problems but felt a lot better now. Another angler who was heading to the lodge for a cuppa noticed Bill lying down in the grass, and when he went to speak with him, realised he had taken a bad turn. He run to the cabin and fishery staff called 999. The paramedics arrived as did the air ambulance. We are really sorry to advise that we have just been advised the Bill did not make it and has passed away. He Will be saddly missed, but finished his life doing what he loved, fly fishing. RIP MY FRIEND AND GOD BLESS BILL AND STAFF
