Default Sea Trout Trip

A few pictures from our annual sea trout trip.

Weather was against us so only one night fishing in the dark but due to the amount of rain the water was coloured enough that we could fish during the day with some success.

A few sizeable fish were caught but as is the way I lost a sea trout at a around 7lb at a guess and my brother lost a double figure salmon at the net

Small flies were the order of the day picking up most fish on size 14 and 16 doubles.

All fish we caught were returned after a quick picture (if possible) bar one which we barbecued,

over all a decent week all things considered.

Great pics, lovely fish & report Barrie, glad the weather didn't put too much of a "dampener" on it for you.

hi bert

i landed 7 for the trip, with my mates over all we were 16 total for the trip. It was crazy though due to the rain, water levels and colour. We just had to try and maximise the amount of possible fishing time.

hope fully next year will be better

Lol.
Mebbes, but early July aint best time for the salmon down there!
Still good numbers for week
B.T.W, from pictures, river is pretty clear, at worst, light tea colour??
Know it goes up and down like a yo-yo, but dropping down, light tea colour, clearing would be good at night, what went wrong?

regards
bert

The first night was good bert low clear and i managed on fish so started well.

the next night around 11.30 it started to bucket down river started rising decided best to head home.

next two nights river was up too high impossible to fish.

thurdsay day fishing possible and the river started to drop still to coloured for the night

Friday we were up very early to see if it had cleared and was possible from then on but have to stop 12 oclock saturday so just a bit unlucky.

most of the pictures are from saturday afternoon.
