    Lough Conn - Boats

Forgot about Kellys at Cloghans. Not too far to go to the northern end or around Bog bay

    Lough Conn - Boats

Not a problem. Enniscoe house has a website and link with contact details for fishing so you might be able to get him from that or maybe the guest house might be able to point you in the right direction for boat hire. Fishing In Mayo | Angling Breaks Ireland | Mayo Fishing | Mayo Accommo

    Lough Conn - Boats

I haven't been out at the northern end myself but I do know Ian Wise, Cloonamoyne Fishery, Enniscoe did do boats up around there but maybe not anymore. Gerry might put in a boat in for you further up the lake as he i know he does move boats about to other lakes in the area. Hope that helps.

    Lough Corrib

I've heard very little reported except for trout got trolling on a couple of those lakes. IFI reports seem quiet although early enough yet.

Good to hear things are starting to get going. A great way to run a competition.

    Lough Conn

Sounds like really decent fishing considering the conditions over the last few days. Unfortunately might not get away until next week at this stage when it might be on the slow down for a while.

    Lough Carra

I haven't fished it in a long time but some of the best spots were Quinn's, Church Island, Moorehall, Casltecarra, Kilkeeran shore, the twins. There was a very good article in Total Flyfisher magazine a year or two ago by Tom Doc Sullivan about fishing the lake in July - i might still have it...

    Lough Conn

Any reports from Conn or how it went last week fellas ? I'm sure the weather didn't help. I might get a trip out next week if there is a change to the conditions.

    Lough Conn

No trips on Conn this year yet unfortunately. Hope to get a trip out with then next 2 weeks. That's a new one to me as well and also Flannerys bay that is mentioned. Not on any maps of the lake I have. An email to the fisheries office and Declan who puts up the report might have some...

Switch/Double handed for boat fishing ?

Appreciate the feedback. I think I will take a punt on the Shakespeare Agility which is easy on the pocket. If it doesn't work out I can try switching to left side to give that a go.

Switch/Double handed for boat fishing ?

Thanks. Watched the videos on those. Definitely worth a go. I like the look of the detachable extension handles even with those shorter & lower rated line rods. They also will not break the bank.

Switch/Double handed for boat fishing ?

 Appreciate that. Thanks for all the feedback. I have purchased a #5 rod recently and have given it a try out and it has helped a small bit. Just not sure in blustery conditions with a team of two or three big flies how it will fair out. My thinking was that an overhead double handed...

Switch/Double handed for boat fishing ?

Anyone attempted using a switch rod/double handed for boat fishing ? A shoulder injury has meant a couple of days boat fishing for trout is tough going, especially when the wind blows up a bit on our big western lakes. I have been considering a switch rod to reduce the need for...

    L. Mask what ever happened to it...

I have been fishing Mask for many years and seen the same pattern. Early season has been good to very good at times and by May time the fishing is nowhere near what we experienced a few years ago. Perhaps a change to feeding patterns and fly hatches as result of weather, water quality changes or...

    Davie McPhail

In my book well worth a donation for all the excellent videos and advice. I caught my first Salmon on a lough last year on a copy of one of Dave's flies so just one way of saying thanks. If folks want to donate a small fee to show gratitude and thanks to someone then do, if you don't or cannot...
