    Wood work help with pics.

They are surprisingly gentle on the wood, and much less toxic than they used to be, Easker's citrus solution is a modern eco friendly alternative, saves hours with that scalpel.

    Wood work help with pics.

I'd do what pentlandflyman says, its perfectly enclosed so you can pour nitromorse into it and work it in with a brush just gently lifting the finish, then give it a scrub with meths, no harm if you have some dark corners it will add to the relief, its much easier than I imagined, when you are...

    Understanding Carbon Trout Rods

You want me to read on cc's? why? like you say its not complicated, you perhaps think I'm not familiar with the concept? There is no argument left here, I have questioned and tried to add my bit, it falls on deaf ears, let us know when you have your new rod rating formula.

    Understanding Carbon Trout Rods

You are not the first to bring the subject up, its not exactly a new concept, but I look forward to your improvements to rod choosing.

    Understanding Carbon Trout Rods

I think its plainly obvious to anyone reading that you don't, but it is entirely within your gift disagree.

    Understanding Carbon Trout Rods

Any short cast will bend just the tip, you don't need to try, and when you make a long cast and the rod bends more.....?

No I didn't, you don't get what 'progressive' means.

    Understanding Carbon Trout Rods

Can you not conceive of a rod that bends more at the tip and progressively less down the blank? So it can cast a short/light line with the tip and be progressively 'powerful' enough with the more you bend to perfectly balance a longer/heavier line? This is the fundamental principle that makes...

    Understanding Carbon Trout Rods

It's shortest cast, 30'. It's the only way you can, make it to cast its shortest distance and design in progressive strength to cast further as the line gets longer and heavier....so you can cast any length of line with a degree of balance.

Give it a year Douglas, they will all be guide trainers :)

    Wanna be a fishing guide?

I presumed there was some sort of verification 'course', point is Orvis or Rio have a vested interest in making sure someone wearing their badge provides a good service, and can withdraw that status if not, so there is a degree of quality assurance there. What does FB do to provide that quality...

    Confusion?

If you calculate the amount and densities of the materials used to build the Queen Mary and look at the subsequent result you may be surprised

    Wanna be a fishing guide?

Orvis and Rio run guide courses and designate guide status, verified by them, business coming through Orvis shops etc can be safely directed to guides they can trust to give a good service, if not they can withdraw that status, and the guide gets a flow of business and a badge that means it can...

    Understanding Carbon Trout Rods

Its the minimum weight it can cast, this leaves your reserve power for longer casts, its really that simple. And as you point out all rods do it to a better or worse extent

    Understanding Carbon Trout Rods

You really are not listening, even as the most extreme example we can call on, 30' of a 5 weight used delicately delivers a single dry fly just fine, that's why it carries the label..5 weight.
