    Moral dilemma with COVID

Cheers that makes me feel much better :) or should that be 😷 The spray was labelled 'sanitiser', and they supplied gloves, which when I got to the till realised I was touching my wallet with..and everything I bought, its a complex process but I was the only one doing it. I think if we are to...

    Moral dilemma with COVID

Yeah, I think we are all going to find it emotionally difficult from time to time over the coming weeks, if this is where it vents the forum achieves something maybe.

    Shotgun/firearm certificates.

Up until this last couple of weeks I thought a lot of things were not possible, working from home has been a bit of an eye opener, we always had the facilities but we have had to overcome a lot of new problems, when you don't have a choice its surprising what you can do. Which parts need to be...

    Moral dilemma with COVID

My reading of it is that we are encouraged to go out for exercise but keep 2m distance from others. Not that I am arguing against it.

    Moral dilemma with COVID

Legally yes of course, but the point is that if we all just do it influences others to gradually break isolation and confuse the collective acceptance of isolation.

    Moral dilemma with COVID

The was always going to be a conflict over fishing in isolation versus complying with travel restrictions for the greater good...on a fly fishing forum. I see both sides, I'm safer fishing than at the supermarket, and driving there is harming no one...that deals with one sense of moral, I also...

    Moral dilemma with COVID

I went to Asda earlier and sprayed the trolley handle etc, most didn't, so yeah, its probably irresponsible to expect fishers to adhere to sensible precautions, and encouraging people to travel is also not wise.

    Moral dilemma with COVID

Totally agree, its also the same dilemma across all activities, I walked across a golf course yesterday, no golfers and totally empty, you can see where one golfer at a time would be perfectly isolated in a very controlled way but to do it would start the shift back to everyone doing it...

    Moral dilemma with COVID

It is to a degree, the thing is its all degrees, among the many activities people are still allowed to do, and can do perfectly safely, fishing is probably one of the safest and most isolated. We are all missing out on fishing but for many it looks like there will be no fisheries to go back to...

The first fish you ever caught

Did this before but what the hell, first fish was guddled from under a flat stone in 'the burn', a tad over quarter of a pound it seemed quite big at the time, it became quite tame after a few removals, it went missing once and I found it under a grass banking, it became a bit of a pet over that...

so Coronavirus is closing fishing clubs

Went for a walk today, probably further than 2km actually, and the only other person I saw was a guy carrying a broken down fly rod! not quite sure what he was doing because the stretch of river is pretty hopeless, just an opportunist I think.
