Yes well worth the drive, I'll be making it there this summer and spring.
Like the idea of camping and late fishing in the summer, my kids are a little young at the mo to get them in to it, but soon.:)
First time at the fishery, it was blowing a gail and chucking it down, so I got drenched.
But did get two hard fighting lean fish around th 3lb mark.caught on two of my own tied flies:D
I popped my head in while I was on business in the area last week (didn't fish).
They had a land owner install a bridge in the area that coupled with the rain we have been having had really colored the water.
Can you post a report as I'm off there on Sunday if the weather holds out..?
Hi all thought I would post my first couple of goes at tying.
My step by step hasn't turned up yet or all the correct material so I just tied what I could, they are far from perfect but at least I got some feathers on a hook.
Couple of questions: what the f*+@k do you do with the whip...
Finally got round to getting the vice, and have tied a couple of flies that actually resemble what I'm after :) .
But I do have a bit of trouble with Marabou turning round the hook while tying it on, is there a trick to doing this....?????
The shot was a winner in one of the sections in the BBC wild life photographer of the year ( can't remember which year )
Always worth a read if you come across the books, every year is full of stunning shots.
Hi Ive been looking at the Scierra Blue Water 8/9 wt for this summer as I can't seem to cast the bigger flies on my 7wt.
Anyone have an opinion on this rod, or would you recomend something else in that price range £170.00.
Also what reel around £150.00 to include second spool...?
Nice shot, my only point would be to go easy on the levels as it is starting to grey out in the highlights on the left, its best left alone if there is no detail there.
The adjustment has had far to much sharpening to crunchy...!
Thanks for the advice, Old jock I was just looking at the Regent on the Glasgow angling web site, also Highlander I was looking at a stone fly on Ebay, whats the issue with stone fly...?
Sunday there was a sign up saying fully booked, which I had, and I would say there was no more than 15 people there.
Maybe they are keeping the numbers down now...?
But I would say there were people who stuck to one pool like glue, in fact one guy had a fold out chair he was sat in :confused...
Price is a little high but the clear water is great for fishing.
I have noticed they get a little abuse on the forums, ive been fishing there for a round a year and have always found the fish in good condition and hard fighting
and I usually catch my limit.
The brown was on a gold head nymph...
