    Thanks for the advice! Basically gone with it - 8' rod, braided mainline - got the mat and forceps...and caught about 7 jacks over about a month.... Despite the biggest being around 4-5lbs - was absolutely buzzing when I caught my first one. After my second catch - invested in larger forceps...

    Hi there, Right ... I live near Cambridge and the only free fishing options are in generally very murky waters. So the question is - if a river is like soup, is there any point fly fishing ? I have had some luck on drys, but as it gets colder - am I wasting my time trying nymphs or streamers...
