The good news is that it has turned up this morning [emoji106] Tracking showed delivered in Paisley (not where I live), and no card left despite the fact they’d left it with a neighbour. Alls well that ends well I guess. Keith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I wouldn’t mind that so much. It’s the fact that it says they HAVE delivered it (when they haven’t!) that concerns me.. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Well, my latest order was going great. Despite a delay, it was getting delivered today only a week after being ordered. Amazing how it can go across lots of places in China, fly to Belgium, fly again to Edinburgh, arrive at the most local depot in Paisley, then apparently show as delivered to my...

    Sage rods

Hi I have a Sage Sonic in 9’ 6” 6wt. A really nice rod, works well with dries, buzzers, nymphs, or even firing out an indicator using something from the “dark side”… [emoji6]. Sage X is a very nice rod, although I’m not sure I’d want to lay out an additional £350 on it. I do love that the...

    Suggestions please, fellas…

GAC have Scierra, Greys and Hodgman jackets all on sale at the moment. Some are around that price. I think there’s also a nice looking Guideline jacket on offer at John Norris for about £60? I wouldn’t normally mention GAC when it comes to good value, but to be fair their offers on clothing are...

    5wt fly rod

I have a Guideline Elevation in 9’ 5wt. I’d say it’s a brilliant rod for the money. It’s incredibly light (lighter than most top end rods), but can throw a full line, and has great feel when connected to a fish. There are a few options in that price range, as someone else has said the Vision...

    TO-DAY,S FLYFISHER

I know they said earlier this year that they were “pausing” publication due to the pandemic, but I haven’t seen anything to suggest they’re not coming back. I hope they do, I really liked the magazine. Keith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Grand Max (riverge) Fluorocarbon

Hi Douglas I don’t think you’re out of date price wise - £24.95 is a lot for a spool of fluorocarbon! I can only speak from the point of view of having tried Grand Max, and really liking it, but not being in a huge rush to buy it again due to the price. You’ll get a whole list of possible...

    Fly fishing TV programme

I watched the first episode last night, and to be honest I really quite enjoyed it. Possibly down to the complete dearth of fly fishing programme alternatives, I’m not sure. Robson had certainly toned it down from previous programmes, and it was actually quite moving to hear him talking of his...

    Fly fishing TV programme

Me too. Although I like both from their comedy roles, I do think that if I was to go fishing with Bob, I’d probably have to strangle him within about 20 mins... [emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Fly fishing TV programme

The trouble with Robson Green, is that he tries to make any show he’s on about him, and not the fishing. Still, I’ll give it a go in the absence of many programmes about fly fishing. Keith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Honestly mate - just don’t encourage him. He’s a troll, who only thrives when others (rightly) challenge his narrow views. He sent me a PM a number of weeks ago, after he set up his own sad thread to debate the merits (or not) of Chinese made fishing tackle. I suspect that not many people joined...

Under rated tackle and over rated tackle

Totally agree Jim. I have one each of 10’ #7, 9’ 6” #7, and 9’ 6” #8. I see there are two 10’ #7’s currently on eBay at £150 each. Cheers Keith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Under rated tackle and over rated tackle

With so much stuff, where do you start? For me, the Redington CPS rod may have been under appreciated. Loved by those who have them, but possibly not widely acknowledged as the great rods that they are. Around 16 years old now, and still as good if not better than many modern rods. Sonik rods...

    Unknown floating line

Basically a shooting head, with all the weight at the front and a thin running line. Very similar to the Sunray lines profile, but I don’t recall one of them in lime green. Great for distance, not so much for presentation. Keith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Could be the Ultra then - they were all one colour. Keith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Unknown floating line

There’s a lot of possibilities I guess, but there are a number of lines with a similar profile. I wondered if might be an SKB Ultra or Ultra Max (if the running line is white), but I’m sure there will be many more suggestions. Keith Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
