    Default Scottie Weaver Vice

Why didn't anyone tell me how easy it is to use a vice like this before? Pull the handle, slip the hook in, and you are away. No fannying around adjusting jaws, turning kn0bs, or trying to get the tension right on the lever.

    It's got me tying again.

Must have some spring tucked away in there! Sounds quite innovative, which is novel

Never heard of it before. Probably because it doesn't pass the beauty test

I doubt you would either, at least the vice is fully functional and manages to get a grip.

Thanks for putting the website up, I've got one that's past it's best, so a refurb is needed.

I think it's a pretty standard design beryl- the lever has a cam lobe in the jaws that spreads the jaws out.

These are a bit prettier, but good looks cost

Okay. From the original post and looking on the web it seemed like you opened the jaws against some resistance, popped the hook in, released the beast and all was held in a vise-like grip. I don't mind being wrong as long as it doesn't become a habit

That is pretty much it. I think the jaws are a high tensile steel, the body holds the jaws together tightly, the lever is attached to a cam that sits between the jaws and forces them apart.

Either way, I'm pleased with it, functional and looks to be well engineered.

Just got my Scottie back from PWW after a refurb.
Great service, looks like new, and Peter sent me a new small allan key to replace the one I misplaced (lost).
    All for 10.00 inc postage.
