Default New Wychwood Drift rods

Hi chaps - I've seen a couple of fairly generic reviews of this new range recently and wondered if anyone has used them for real yet?

I'm particularly interested in the little tiny 6ft 2wt...

Thanks in advance!

Theo

Casted most of them except the french nymph and the Tiny ones. I think they are very well designed rods bit of mass to them not to much just enough for happy mending duo rigs or smooth rollcasts. But a 6ft 2 is not really the right tool for the above, but the rods i have tried were all pretty darn good.
Not line shy neither except for the handle i donít think there has been one customer in the shop that said something bad about them after playing around on our casting area..

Hope you will get some advise on the specific model you are after..

J

Thanks dutchy1978!

I guess one of the things I'm most interested in knowing is how "over-built" (or not) the handle on the 6-foot 2-weight is... once you get used to fishing ultralight with the subtle old-school Orvis Superfine cork and ring handles, anything more mainstream feels far too big and just seems to get in the way between you and the fish. Obviously it's really time consuming and difficult to make those, so AFAIK they've been discontinued, but once you get a taste for something...

Still trying to track down one of these Wychwood things to, errm, handle - no luck in Farlows yesterday despite the rods appearing on their website

I'm also keen to hear opinions on these. I'm looking specifically at the 10' #3 for Grayling Czech Nymphing. They are available for a little over £100, worth the money or are there better rods for a similar price?

Sorry I can't help on the shorter rod Theo but Nick Thomas wrote up the nymph version here that I hope might help a little.

Thanks Pete - that does give a good sense of the look and feel of the range - definitely still worth exploring!
