    Default Vision XO/Tane

Has anyone tried either of the above rods? I am particularly interested in the 9'0" #5 & #6 weights.

If so how do they compare with other rods that you have from other manufacturers?

Iíve used both but difficult for me to compare to other manufacturers as only used Vision, Redington and SAGE rods. What I can say is I own a TANE rod in 9ft 6 #3 and I find it suits me very well. Itís very light and has a rather smooth medium fast action compared to a more medium action of the XO. I tried VIsions SISU rod Last week with the matching TANE line and itís awsome. I stripped some line off to false cast and with one flick it shot all the line out. It is also light and very sensitive and I got the feeling I could fish all day with it. I would compare the SISU to the Vision GT rod from a few years back but upgraded , lighter and with a faster recovery and this rod is in the middle of the price bracket of the TANE and XO. For me it would be the TANE from the two rods you mention but take a look at the SISU as I think thatís my next purchase.

Thanks Sniper. I did look at the SISU but couldn't find much out about it. Have you used any of the Vision Onki's? If so how did it compare to them?

    I have 5 Onki's from 9'0" in #4,5 &6 weights plus 9'6" & 10'0" #6's. These rods are superb and I normally use them instead of my Hardy Zephrus's.

Which of the SISU's did you try last week?

The SISU was a 9ft #4 or #5. Yes I’ve used the ONKI in a few different lengths and line weights and for the money one of the best rods out there in it’s price range and even better with its own line the ONKI line THe SISU however is up there with more top end rods in my opinion, lighter more accurate due to the faster recovery. It’s a tough call as Vision have some lovely rods out at the moment but if budget allows I’d be heading up the SISU track

    Hi,

The Tane is on sale here: Tane Rod, 165,00 €

A good, reliable shop, which Iīve dealt with a lot.

    Cheers,

Many thanks for that Damien. Unfortunately they haven't got a #5 weight but bought a #6.

Well the 9'0" #6 Tane arrived today, pretty good going as I only ordered it last Saturday from Austria. First impressions are good, nicely presented in a good quality tube and very light in the hand. Haven't tested it properly yet but had a few casts in the back garden where it appears to perform well in spite of the very gusty wind that we have here today. It feels a bit 'faster' than I was expecting hopefully I should be able to make a proper assessment of it when I use it next Tuesday.
