Another vote for Renzetti Traveler. Excellent vice for the money. Sadly the price went up recently.

    Cheers,

Any votes for the Regal Medallion? Not sure if it can be called rotary but it looks rotary enough for me and those stainless Steel Jaws look they could hold a size 28 no problem. Any user stories out there?

Me, yes the jaws rotate but not inline so its fine for having a look around the fly, a quick squeeze of the jaws and the hook can be set in any position so you aren't missing out on anything.

Had the shaft ground and better drag fitted (work was done by Luke Troutstalker ) now it's perfect, The Elite doesn't have that issue.

Luke (Mike Johnson) is now producing his own custom vices. He uses Stonfo jaws and does the rest himself. I bought one from him - my first rotary vice after 50 years of tying with a cheap fixed head vice. Very pleased with it. What a revelation, being able to turn the fly!

I've only had it a month and have tied over 200 flies - that's an astronomical number for me!

Mike set it up for me being a leftie...

Since taking these shots, I have moved the jaw-tensioning wheel to the rear, as I prefer it there. (Mike had put it at the front as he prefers it there.)

Anyone interested, PM me and I will give you Mike's contact details.

That's a lovely looking vice Col, like that it seems to have a slightly longer shaft than the norm for pedestals, seems such an obvious thing to be able to adjust - yet often you can't on pedestals.

Beauty of having it custom-made, Iain. I gave Mike the height that I like to position the fly and he made the stem to measure.
