Thanks Noel, but the saga continues. The line has now been sent to a secure location in Ireland where the bomb squad will open it looking for a return address. I kid you not.
    Tight Lines.
    Brian.

They have fly line specialists in the Irish bomb squad. Without the backstop we’ll be in trouble.

I have worked in Eire and NI from time to time.
When you have had a pipe bomb placed on your equipment overnight or shooting in the street you are working in, it’s not so funny then.
Only when the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught and the last river poisoned, will we realise, we cannot eat money.

I was a student in Northern Ireland for three years followed by another three living and working in the Republic at the height of the troubles. I retained my sense of humour as did my Irish family and friends, but I don’t really think that any of the above posts had anything to do with the conflict you are referring to.

You're right, the previous posts were meant as humour I'm sure. It just reminded me of a couple of bad experiences and this obviously isn't the best place to discuss the troubles.
I have worked and holidayed in the north and the south for twenty odd years and will continue to do so.
I do have one colleague in particular who has looked down the wrong end of a gun barrel whilst doing his normal daily job and has his sense of humour is perfectly intact.

    All the best.
