I think trying to get a decent photo was the hardest part and so none of these are great!

This is part of a set of #16’s , #18’s and these #20’s. All tied on Hanak H130BL black nickel hooks.

Great stuff Ian, similar to what I tie. I too use Hanaks. I've had a couple 5lb overwintered rainbows recently on #18s and they were superb, hook securely and cause very minimal damage to the fish.

Thanks for the kind words all.

Little flies like this, especially the Sherry Spinner, have provided me with some red letter days when others have been blanking on both still water and rivers and so I wouldn’t be without them in my box.

Tying a good sparkle dun in size 20 is a great achievement.

I struggle tying them even in 18s because when I use enough deer hair to give a decent wing that will float, the bulk of the deer hair butts makes the entire fly very bulky
