Finding myself with some more time next year (probably), I have signed up to do a couple of AMFC comps with one of my clubs. This is my first foray into the competition world, beyond club comps. I am “told” that the AMFC is friendly, sociable and a good way to learn.

Any thoughts or advice from those who have fished these series?

Thanks.
Graham

I fished a few of those back in the day. You fish with one of your team, so as long as you get on with that person it should be friendly and sociable. I think, too, they are a bit more relaxed about fly sizes.

Oh yes we did! Fishery rules as regards fly sizes back then. May well have changed since, but I DO know what we were using which were mostly international rules flies but not exclusively. And we did fish as pairs from the same team.
