Sorry for the thread title but it is the name of the fly! It's a pattern devised by long term Usk gillie Stuart Jarvis to imitate early Olives. It's a pattern I discovered in Roger Smith's book, 'Flyfishing the Welsh Borderlands', and it's a pattern I enjoy tying and fishing.

Bastard Adams

Hook:
TMC100SP-BL size 16
Thread: Veevus 16/0 Grey
Tail: Blue Dun hackle barbs
Body: Adams Grey Super Fine (The original dressing was rabbit underfur or muskrat)
Wing: Fibres from a Brown Partridge back feather
Hackle: Dyed Blue Dun
