But what a lovely place to fish
When i first fished the Wharfe at bolton abbey some maybe 35 years ago,for a junior i paid around 60p if i remember right, and the last time was over ten years ago, i paid around a tenner
And you was lucky to see another angler all day, good VFM 5 miles of river to ourselves for 60p
Times change, looks like they certainly have there
Dont know if i would pay the price now as it seems a little commercialised for day trippers

Hi Philip

I think both Burnsall & Bolton Abbey will be closed to day anglers when you visit. There is good day ticket grayling fishing at Pool in Wharfedale - you can buy a ticket (under £5) from the petrol station by the bridge in Pool (you can't miss it). Parking is next to the garage - there are fish either side of the bridge and for the best part of a mile in either direction. Drop me a pm if you want more detailed advice on where to fish/tactics.

Does the stretch of water in question have many grayling in it?

I will be stopping in a cottage near Kilnsey with the family over half term this february. With the trout season being will and truly closed i assumed the Warfe would be out of action, but by the looks of it you can get grayling day tickets. Anyone had any luck with them on the either the Bolton Abbey or the Burnsall beats. Are they the same price as the Trout ones??

Or should i be looking to go somewhere else, any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Thanks
