If we are guessing the weight of fish what do you make of this GT that I caught a few years ago. It has a similar shape to a permit, maybe not as broad.

Please tell me having crushed all the nerves in it's tail, lifting it out of the water
For a bragging photo, you let it go, and how well did it swim away.
or did you kill it after.

I have to say that I am not proud of holding the fish in that way. It was quite a few years ago and I know better now. GTs do have a very bony tail much more so than even salmon.
I did release the fish and it did swim off okay.

Thank you for the reply, You do not have to delete the photo.
I understand it was a long time ago, I apologize for being confrontational.
Just put it down to being a grumpy yorkshireman

I deleted the photo because I thought you were quite right in your assessment. Sometimes other people's opinions can open your own eyes.

I understand Yorkshire people very well as I lived in Yorkshire for about 10 years. I am, by birth, a Southerner but find Yorkshire people far more honest in a direct sort of way.

I had one of those GTs in my sink yesterday - must have come up the plughole

Got a couple of casts on it, in fact it took an 18 Griffiths Gnat, but it jumped into the toilet and was gone when it spooled me somewhere around the Pumping Station.
