I'm a member at carron, more than worth the 350 a year. The carron doesn't get stocked it's full of wild browns but he does stock the faughlin with rainbows every now and then and this is included in your membership.

 

Thanks for that i have fished Faughlin before it was decent. I thought he stocked some browns in Carron i have seen some pictures of fish i thought looked like fat stockies? Is it a good dry fly water from the bank? Cheers

 

I joined 3 years ago and it was stocked with some cracking big browns that year but I think it’s bn left alone since then. Great water & Jimmy is a cracking guy, all the members are a good bunch of guys and very helpful.

 

Another one to consider Geo is Drumbowie loch in Denny, about 1 and a half times the size of Antermony, I've fished it a few times, stocked with both Rainbows and
Browns excellent quality fish, has some fabulous buzzer fishing early season and great for dries throughout, has both bank and boat fishing.

 

I've been a member at Carron for a few years. Fish floating line and dries from the bank, pretty much all season. Some days are better than others...but that's fishing.

 

Not fished Carron Valley in years but I did fish it from the bank and mostly a dry fly late in the day or evening, only ever fished the roadside bank, bays are mostly shallow and slim pickings unless you wade way out, when the water is low there is a sandbar, more of a rock bar you can get out to deeper water, it's off the jutty out bit bout a quarter of the way down the roadside, takes you out a good way and into deeper water and bigger fish.

I personally wouldn't pay £350 to fish it from the bank but that was then.

 

I think the membership is £330 now and £10 for each boat trip. The water levels have remained high all year and the fish are tight into the bank so excellent sport close in for both boat and bank. I never fished much this year due to a health complication but I know it’s fished great from chatting with Jimmy and the other members. My mate Chris Brennan (Spriggeydewey) knows the bank better than anyone so he’s worth a chat on here or social media for info. I personally think £330 is an absolute steal for what your getting, split that down into what u would pay on day tickets elsewhere and your saving a fortune.
