I've been after something like this for a while, a needle on a retractable spring to accompany my snips. Nail clippers make the best line snips but they don't have the needle on them to clean out hook eyes, this provides the answer for me. Comes with a split ring to fit in the end and as such it fits on a zinger.

With delivery it comes to £3.20, took a couple of months to arrive but worth the wait.

Propelling pencil, with the appropriate needle in it ? Works fine if you need more gear on the water.

I have snips with point at opposite end to snip, not ideal on some snips and point can be a bit thick for hook eye on small sizes (I use point of another fly for that).

These days I make sure all the flies I tie or buy have varnish-free eye holes before I put them in my fly box, so I don't waste valuable fishing time trying to unclog them.
