had my first trip to Chew yesterday and the fishing was fantastic ! i held off going the last few week after the heat wave, but some recent rain and cooler conditions tempted me in to a trip.
the morning was cool and over cast, only a few rises but i netted 8 fish in 2 hours on dries. they were coming up blind and hammering them! terrific sport. the sun came out and the wind picked right up in the afternoon, which made things difficult, i tried all methods between 12 and 4 , a didn't have a touch.

i moored up around 6 after having enough of a beating from the wind, and decided to fish Wally's bank for the remainder of the day. definitely one of my better calls, the sport there was excellent, fish coming in to feed close in and taking Diawl Bachs.

all in all 14 fish (all safely returned) missed a good few through poor angling.

all in all, happy to recommend that its fishing good now. hope to get back down there again soon ! chew.jpg
